Jasmine Auda was Awarded First Prize for Her Essay at the IAEA’s 2020 International Conference on Nuclear Security (ICONS)
Jasmine Auda was awarded first prize for her essay “The Trust Machine: Blockchain Technology in Nuclear Security and Prospects for Application in the Middle East” for the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 2020 International Conference on Nuclear Security (ICONS). The essay discussed Blockchain technology in nuclear security and its prospects for application in the Middle East. In her paper, Jasmine highlights the importance of technical innovations to secure the data of any central authority and suggests the implementation of a blockchain-based monitoring system to help secure nuclear material. Also attended ICONS, MENACS member Nilsu Goren who recently was appointed as a program manager in CRDF Global’s.

MENACS Members Participated in the Eighth EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference, December 2019
Members of MENACS participated at the Eighth EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference that took place in 12-14 December 2019 in Brussels. Selim Sazak and Jasmin Auda participated in the next generation workshop.
Farzan Sabet and Tomisha Bino presented in the panel on the Prospects and Challenges of the WMDFZ in the Middle East.
