Jasmine Auda was Awarded First Prize for Her Essay at the IAEA’s 2020 International Conference on Nuclear Security (ICONS)

Jasmine Auda was awarded first prize for her essay “The Trust Machine: Blockchain Technology in Nuclear Security and Prospects for Application in the Middle East” for the International Atomic Energy Agency’s 2020 International Conference on Nuclear Security (ICONS). The essay discussed Blockchain technology in nuclear security and its prospects for application in the Middle East. In her paper, Jasmine highlights the importance of technical innovations to secure the data of any central authority and suggests the implementation of a blockchain-based monitoring system to help secure nuclear material. Also attended ICONS, MENACS member Nilsu Goren who recently was appointed as a program manager in CRDF Global’s.
